Quick Quotes~ “How unspeakably wonderful to know that all our concerns are held in hands that bled for us.” – John Newton

As I’m currently riding in the car, heading towards a much needed lake trip, this Quick Quotes will actually be quick;) I’m trying to go “unplugged ” for the most part, so this will be the only post of the week

“How unspeakably wonderful to know that all our concerns are held in hands that bled for us.” -John Newton

This month I’ve been thinking a lot about what it means to put my life in God’s hands. Not just saying, “Well yeah, of course I’m a Christian,” but instead declaring, “I am a child of God! He created me in His image and formed me in my mother’s womb. I am imperfect and can not make wise decisions on my own. But Christ is perfect and bled and died for my sins. Because of His unbelievable love, I can believe.”

John Newton, the composer of Amazing Grace, has an incredible testimony (I would definitely recommend looking into his story). This quote of his, “How unspeakably wonderful to know that all our concerns are held in hands that bled for us,” is very humbling and true. It is so amazing to know that all of our worries are held in the hands of one who died to set us free. Put your trust in Jesus. Only His blood covered hands can share our burdens.

I hope you all have a great week! Comment down below if you have anything to add. I would love to hear your thoughts. Also, what posts would you like to see more of in the future? Thanks!

7 Words of Wisdom for Depression

Life isn’t always filled with simplicity, happiness, and contentment. There are so many times of intense sorrow and heartbreak. Many of us just can’t seem to find joy even when life is at its best. There is just so much that can’t be explained and simply doesn’t make sense. It is times like these that God uses to bring us closer to Him. A lot of people would ask, “How could a loving God let me feel such a lack of joy?” During the periods of depression, it is so easy to fall into that trap that Satan sets. Suffering is such a gift. It reminds us of how broken we humans really are and forces us to depend on Him.

I put together a list if quotes, verses, and song excerpts that really help me during rough patches. Let these words of wisdom bring peace and contentment to your heart. Remember that while Our Father does promise Christians hardship, He also promises that He won’t give you too heavy of a load.

1. “Maybe you have to know the darkness before you can appreciate the light.” – Madeline L’Engle

2. “No pow’r of Hell, no scheme of man, can ever pluck me from His hands; till He returns or calls me home- here in the pow’r of Christ I stand!”- In Christ Alone, Keith and Kristyn Getty

3. “This is my comfort, my consolation, and my breath of fresh air in the midst of my depression and loss, Your Word nourishes and repairs me, it revives my life and your promises restore me and make me whole.” – Psalm 119:50

4.”God will let you walk into uncomfortable situations where ALL you can do in rely on Him. Don’t be anxious. He’s about to show you He is faithful.” – Brittney Moses

5. “O death, where is your sting? O Hell, where is your victory? O Church, come stand in the light. Our God is not dead-He’s alive!” – Christ is Risen, Matt Maher

6. “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” – 1 Peter 1:7

7. “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with My victorious right hand.”- Isaiah 41:10
Well I hope that these help you as much as they do me. Do you have a devotion or Bible study that has made an impact in your life? Let me know in the comments!

Have a blessed week,

~Mini Skin Care Haul~

Well this week I walked into Walmart saying, “Emerald, you aren’t going to buy anything. You need to save your money and be a wise person,”…. well that plan backfired the minute I walked past the skin care section. Needless to say I walked out with $17.58 worth of stuff. Yay me😂! Let me show you what I gave into weakness for…

Bioré Charcol pore strips- Being a but skeptical, I’ve never used a black head strip. These actually proved to work very well. They do a great job of getting the very deep blackheads.

Queen Helene Cocoa Butter hand + body lotion- Now I was drawn to this stuff because of the insanely good price (it only cost around a dollar for a huge bottle!). A lot of women use this during pregnancy to reduce stretch marks, so I figured it  might help with all of the “average teenage girl” stretch marks that come with insane growth and a love for chocolate (trust me. I’m in the same boat as you.) When I used it, I was very surprised at how fast is absorbed and how little it took. While I’m not sure about the whole “stretch mark reducing” claims yet, it is extremely moisturizing.

Burt’s Bees Sensitive facial cleanser – I was looking for a gentle, soap free cleanser that wouldn’t make my skin super dry or overly oily and this one seems to do the trick. It let my face feeling soft and clean and worked well with my Neutragenia Naturals moisturizer.

A Run By Jeamor Farms

Hey there! I’m so glad that you could stop by my blog! In North Georgia, there is a  well-known farm/country store called  Jaemor Farms. They have tons of fresh produce, local goods, fried pies, and some amazing homemade ice-cream. I recently had the pleasure of stopping by Jaemor and took some pictures just for fun.

I love places like this because 1. YAY to supporting local businesses! and 2. they have such a fun small town feel.

I hope you have a blessed start to your week!

*Summer Bucket List*

If you’re like me, you’ve been holding off on this whole “yay summer!” deal. It may be because I just love fall so much, but for some reason I just haven’t been able to get in the mood. So I thought that I would put together my to-do list for the summer in hope that it helps me not be such a party-pooper;)

  • Water Ski– Water skiing is one of my favorite summer/lake things to do. Hopefully there will be a great lake trip in my future…
  • Make homemade lemonade– Nothing says “summer” like a big glass of lemonade or sweet tea over ice with a giant slice of watermelon. Honestly it makes me happy just thinking about it.
  • Read a new She Reads Truth series– She Reads truth is a website/app that has incredible devotionals. They have series on books of the Bible, hymns, and so much more. If you haven’t checked them out before you can find them here. Having my devotionals on such an easy to use platform makes for simple, summer relax time.
  • Let go of grudges– Throughout the school year, a lot can happen. A friend may have said something behind your back, maybe someone you trusted lied to you, or that relationship just didn’t work out. I know that all of this piles up, never really being dealt with, until you have a stack of loose ends, unfinished business, and hurt feelings that you keep holding on to One thing that I need to work on this summer is just letting go of the past and enjoying the present. I tend to let past wrong doings stick to my heart and destroy my current relationships. Grudges shouldn’t be carried around. Let’s work on forgiveness this season.
  •  Launch my online boutique– That’s right! I’ve decided to take the plunge into entrepreneurship. My goal is to have my store up and running by July. I will let you all know more details closer to time.
  • Enjoy the little things and Sunshine– Summer is the time of year that we all just kinda kick back. My hope is to really use this time to get outside and enjoy the little things of life!

Thanks for stopping by! I’m really interested to know what some of your summer goals are. Let me know in the comments!!
